Welcome to denverDIY.org! Started in early 2007, this will hopefully become a catalogue of all the shows, fliers, events and venues
in and around Denver, with an emphasis on small or DIY shows and events.
Unfortunately, due to recent (and anticipated future) harassment by the Denver Police Department experienced by well known and established DIY venues and some houses, denverDIY.org has decided to shut down until after the DNC. While this may seem paranoid, we don't need any more venues getting shutdown, especially with the rumored advent of Denver's "underground music venue task force". Word of mouth and fliers seem like safe ways to propagate info about shows, and we don't feel like making it any easier for them to map out Denver's DIY music scene. Personally, I think now is the time to have more shows, not less; as anything else would seem like giving up and giving in. For whatever reason, the authorities feel threatened by somewhat like-minded people getting together and enjoying music, and I say fuck them. If anyone is interested in discussing ideas about how to safely conduct and setup small DIY shows without having to worry too much about getting busted for it (i.e., find locations where the zoning permits louder decibel levels, etc), send a comment and if there is enough concern, interested parties could maybe meet up. If not, best of luck and stay safe, denverDIY.org will be back up after the DNC.
If you have a comment, are interested in helping out the project, or notice an error regarding shows or venues on the site, drop us a line at 303diy@gmail.com, or just fill out the form below.
